01THE FIRST SHOP
Bringing the musical spark back to Launceston.
Back in the 1980s, Launceston had a wonderful record shop of its own, Rhythm and Rhyme — the kind of place that made music feel present in the town. In more recent years, that spark had gone missing. We felt its absence, and we knew other musicians, collectors and curious listeners did too.
After years spent playing, collecting and listening, we decided to create the music hub we wished Launceston still had. Keep Audio Co. became the place where that experience could live — not behind a screen, but in conversations, recommendations, live sessions and records handed across a counter.
Our first shop stood directly opposite Launceston Castle's keep. That landmark gave us our name, but also an idea: music is something worth holding onto, protecting and passing on.

Our new and better home sits directly beside the town gatehouse. More remarkably, the original town wall connected to that gatehouse runs through the building itself. The history is not just outside our front door; it is part of the shop. Keep Audio Co. is woven into Launceston in the most literal way, while our purpose remains the same: keeping music at the heart of town.
